CPlusEngine Lighting

This is a new concept feature I have been thinking about for the past couple of weeks now.  There is a small interface for the lights and I’ve started a new Spotlight class that will act like a spotlight on the game screen.

There are a couple of way to make a light work in the current system without using the undeveloped light classes.  Because the game engine draws in layers we can add a gobo to a drawable object that is on the top layer.  This has been done in the demo game and here is a picture for reference of the effect:

An example of how we can use an object as a light gobo to achieve lighting effects in the game engine. On the left is an image with a gobo object applied and on the right is the same scene without the gobo.
Once the light system gets created the need for gobo will be diminished.  There will still be times that a gobo may be needed but instead of applying them to regular game object they will be applied to the light itself.
